SISTAS HEALTHCARE SERVICES follows structured procedures designed to maintain continuity, prevent complications, and support rehabilitation. Every service is carried out by licensed staff under physician oversight, ensuring patients across Maryland receive reliable and individualized care in the home setting.
PROCEDURE
- The agency will follow its established procedures for the application, interview, and hiring process for caregivers.
- The caregiver MUST live within 30 miles of the geographical area of the patient’s residence.
- The agency shall provide the following complex care services but not limited to: Wound care, G-Tube, IV Therapy, Pain Management, Vent Management, Palliative care, etc by appropriately qualified staff in accordance with a physician’s order and Plan of care under the direction and supervision of a Registered nurse.
- The aides will provide personal care services ONLY, e.g., Bathing, grooming, toileting, etc.
- The agency will provide short-term relief to the participant’s family that normally provides the care in their home or place of residence through respite care services.
- The agency shall provide a registered nurse to monitor services to the participant and family.
- The Registered Nurse shall participate in the training and retraining of the individuals who will provide the care, quarterly or when indicated.
- The Registered Nurse shall provide ongoing training to the recipient’s family.
- The Registered Nurse will recognize that the educational needs of clients (Pediatric, Geriatric, and Disabled) and caregivers may change or decrease over time. Therefore, educational needs and the response to these needs will be regularly assessed and re-assessed.

Care services shall be provided in accordance with the attending physician’s treatment plan and shall include, but not be limited to:
- Assessment and regular reassessment of the needs of the client throughout the course of care
- Development, implementation, review, and revision of the nursing care plan
- Observation of physical and emotional signs, symptoms, and reporting to the physician of all reactions to treatments.
- Teaching, supervising, and counseling of the client and family regarding the care needs and related problems of the client at home.
- Supervision and teaching of other service personnel, such as personal care and support staff
- Preparation of progress notes, summary reports, discharge summaries, and other documentation.
- The agency will make choices and decisions about the provision of home care services relative to the client’s personal beliefs and values.
- The Agency will accept referrals from Managed care companies, Government agencies (Medicaid), Private health insurance, and Self-pay.
- The agency will accept payment from Private Insurances, Private or self-pay. Medicaid payments are accepted as payment in full for patient services. Clients must have insurance and or some means of payment.
